PAINTING YOUR PERSONAL MYTHOLOGY Workshops and Individual Sessions
Souls, like paint, have fluid properties and their movement is a natural state.
Using a blend of painting, guided visualization, meditation and movement, Painting Your Personal Mythology (PPM) allows clients to express themselves through art, discover the symbolic meaning of the artwork, embody that insight, and then translate it into verbal language.
The purpose of the painting and questioning process is to cultivate personal presence and trust in oneself as a creative being. We focus on developing intuition, defending against internal judgment, bringing unconscious material into consciousness and allowing ourselves to act spontaneously using the medium of paint. You will learn how to apply the Painting Your Personal Mythology (PPM) method in your life.
Through a combination of experiential exercises, participants will explore the theory and practice of this intra-psychic (a self directed and self interpreted exploration) method.

About the Facilitator |
Jan Lauren Greenfield is an artist and yoga teacher. Her photographs have been featured online in Vogue Italia and she recently completed a residency on Governors Island for her mixed-media work. She began practicing yoga in Nepal at age 18. That experience in Nepal set her on a course of events that would change the life she knew to one that would be better than one she could have ever imagined. Ms. Greenfield integrated the healing and recovery process through the arts, creating programs including art exhibitions and dance performances in conjunction with the United Nations and the Jewish Heritage Museum. As a yoga teacher, for over a decade, her teaching has been geared to at-risk youth, children and adults with special needs. She created and implemented a yoga program and taught that program to over 500 children. She has taught in the mystical city of Tzaft, Israel, the birthplace of Kabbalah. She is an E-RYT 200 yoga teacher, is certified in art therapy in Painting Your Personal Mythology and is a Wilderness First Responder.
